Hayes is a town within the London Borough of Hillingdon. Hayes was actually developed in the 19th and 20th century as a town to house factory workers during the 2nd industrial push in the country, as new engineering enterprises sprung up next to larger cities, riding on the success of them.
Hayes is located on the Grand Union Canal and is served by several railway lines meaning that larger multinational companies such as Heinz and Nestle are still housed there. The proliferation of housing built after World War II with large garden spaces are now home to commuters and people who work for the local large industry. It is a simple 25 minute journey to Paddington Station, as well as a 30 minute train ride to Heathrow Airport. Frequent commuter services to the surrounding urban areas of Oxford and Reading also occur and the town is also very close to the M4.
In addition, Hayes offers some great local community theatres and sporting facilities to its residents and a surprisingly good selection of shops and pubs along its streets.
