Wetherby is a charming market town in Yorkshire filled with history and was once an important Roman settlement. Geographically, Wetherby is nestled in the centre of Leeds, York and Harrogate and is equidistant from London and Edinburgh (198 miles).
Well supplied by supermarkets and pubs, Wetherby is home to about 22,000 people, most of whom work in nearby Leeds. Wetherby has a beautiful river and there are many trails walkers can take to that include blue plaques pointing out places of historic significance.
It played its part in the Civil War and housed Hollywood heart throb Clark Gable when he was stationed at its airfield in World War II. For engineering buffs, Wetherby has a bridge which is about 750 years old.
The town prides itself on its appearance and has won several awards for its flowers, gardens and green spaces.
