The Cheshire town of Warrington is located roughly half way between Liverpool and Manchester along the M62.
Historically, the area has been known for farming and light manufacturing, but in 1962 the town was was given "new town" status, which has seen the population grow to 198,000. With that, the town has shifted almost exclusively to a retail based economy. The town has taken advantage of space and proximity to Liverpool and Manchester to become a large shopping and retail location.
Although dominated in size by its neighbors to the east and west, Warrington also boast a professional sports team in the form of the Super League rugby team, the Warrington Wolves.
