The Volkswagen Beetle is a marmite car; you either love it or hate it. The original was introduced way back in 1938 and since then it has undergone many revisions to ensure it stays up to date but keeps those retro looks that buyers love. In 2012 the latest Beetle was released and maintains its iconic looks but gets all the latest safety equipment and gadgets you would expect in a brand new Volkswagen. The beetle offers a fine drive and the petrol and diesel engines on offer are all refined and economical, so running costs should be low. The interior continues with the retro theme and space up front is good but the rear seats are really only suitable for children.
