Home to Scotland's first university, founded in 1413, St Andrews is a remarkable part of Scotland that has some of the UKs most exquisite scenery.
For over 600 years it has used its land to host golfing championships most notably the 2010 Open Championship. Its seven golf courses have given St. Andrews the moniker of the largest public golf complex in Europe.
Other sporting facilities include a canoe club, a football and rugby clubs, and the East Sands leisure centre which has a variety of facilities and equipment.
There are three primary schools, private and one secondary school most of which have had good examination and inspection results. The tower of Holy Trinity, St Andrews Castle and West Port are historic sites that visitors should not miss.
