A district in North Lincolnshire and only nineteen miles away from Lincoln, Sleaford is the home of plastic surgery after it was pioneered there back in the 1940s. Visitors travelling to Sleaford can enjoy many attractions, such as the Bass Maltings. This former brewery is a Grade II listed building. Although it closed down in the 1950s, it is due for refurbishment with much of its original architecture to remain.
Over the past decade, much housing has been built in Sleaford and many areas have been regenerated. Sleaford also has a railway station which connects it to Doncaster and other heavily populated areas. Sleaford also holds a market and has done so since the 12th century. Famous residents of Sleaford include comedienne Jennifer Saunders, songwriter Bernie Taupin and model Abi Titmuss who went to school there.
