The fact that Skoda appears to have welded the front half of one car to the back of another disguises the fact that actually, the Roomster is a pretty good little car. It went on sale in 2006, and is based largely on existing Volkswagen architecture. The cabin is spacious and reasonably versatile - some of the plastics may feel cheap (the car itself is reasonably priced), but being a Skoda, trips to the dealer are likely to be few and far between. On the open road, the Roomster feels safe and secure. The engines are noisy, but offer just enough grunt to haul you around.
