Bordering Glasgow, Stirling and Falkirk, many towns in North Lanarkshire have a commuter population. Cumbernauld and Motherwell are amongst the larger towns there. All the towns are well connected to the cities via road or rail with excellent shopping, dining and entertainments being available on the doorstep.
Further afield, thanks to its industrial heritage, North Lanarkshire has an array of interesting museums and places to experience such as the Summerlee Museum of Scottish Industrial Life and the impressive Drumpellier Country Park Estate provides a welcome break for all the family. With its far-reaching views and lochs, North Lanarkshire provides the perfect setting for a picnic, barbeque or walk. Cycling is encouraged here also, with a great many cycle trails and routes to help you discover these interesting lands.
