The Outlander has failed to make such an impact of the small-SUV market as Mitsubishi would have liked but that's not to say that it isn't a good car. The two diesel engines on offer are refined and give strong performance; 2wd versions can achieve over 45mpg. Interior space is also very good with generous amounts of head and legroom, however, the third row of seats are unfortunately too cramped for practical everyday use. Unlike some other SUV's, the Outlander does not suffer from noticeable body roll through the corners and makes for an enjoyable drive, although the hard ride can become annoying. The Outlander is a good car that will serve any family well, but rivals such as the Land Rover Freelander are better.
