Sharing its name with a month of the year, the Cambridgeshire market town of March is in the historic Isle of Ely. It was once surrounded by marshes and was in fact an island that also had a port as well. March has held a market for generations which sells a wide range of produce.
A walk through March will be very pleasant especially as many independent shops are in this pretty town. Although it has high street shops which are in other places in the United Kingdom, March also has many independent shops as well. March's shops are a key source of recruitment in the town.
March has a museum which is also on the high street that was first opened in the 1970s. Many notable people have come from March as well. Darts player Kevin Painter and broadcaster Rex Tucker who directed many early episodes of 'Doctor Who' originate from March.
