The Lincoln is the car of presidents as a limo and has given a lift to many a White House politician over the years. The company was started in 1915. Henry M. Leland, who formed the Lincoln Motor Company, named it after 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln who was Leland's hero. In the 1950s and 60s, the Lincoln swiftly became one of America's top selling luxury brands such as the Cadillac, Duesenberg and Packard. Apart from building specially secured government limos with bulletproof windshields and so on, the series also includes crossovers and SUVS but luxury is its abiding hallmark.
