In West Sussex resides a small parish village on the Adur district called Lancing. With the seaside on its doorstep, Lancing has become a very popular seaside resort. Other seaside resorts such as Shoreham-by-Sea lay on the town's doorstep. Lancing is favoured more due to its secluded atmosphere.
Shoreham airport, which is situated in the town, is the oldest airfield in the UK, built in 1911.
Lancing is home to many successful writers such as Ted Walker, born in 1934. His autobiography, entitled 'The High Path,' takes the reader on a step by step journey from Brighton Road to the Widewater which was once a public passage. With this scenic description being the inspiration for the title of his novel, it's clear this town has a spectacular influence on its residents.
