Located within the London commuter belt on the West Essex border with Hertfordshire, Harlow has a rough population of 80,000 people. Because so many residents commute into London for work, its links to London are excellent, including its location near the M11 motorway, rail services into the capital, and bus service to Epping London Underground station. Many locals who don't commute into London are employees at London Stansted Airport, which is only 10 miles away from Harlow.
Harlow is a haven for sport lovers. It boasts four cricket clubs, a golf course, tennis club, and Harlow Centre for Outdoor Learning (canoeing, climbing, high ropes, and mountain biking). Additionally, more than a third of the town is parkland or open space. For those more culturally inclined, Museum of Harlow, Mark Hall Gardens, or any of a number of other art galleries and theatres are all options.
Harry Potter film star Rupert Grint, who played Harry's best friend Ron, grew up in Harlow.
