Harlington is an area of the London Borough of Hillingdon. It was part of Middlesex until 1965 when the county was dissolved. It shares a rail station with Hayes; reaching Paddington by train from Harlington takes 20 minutes.
Harlington serves as a base for business travellers who need to be in close proximity to nearby Heathrow. Residents of Harlington make up much of the opposition to plans for the expansion of Heathrow. The UK headquarters of Hellenic Imperial Airways are in Harlington.
Despite neighbouring the world's busiest airport. Harlington is balanced by plenty of green spaces including Minet Country Park, a 90-acre nature reserve. Thorpe Park, Kew Gardens, Hampton Court Palace, and Osterley Park are all easily accessible from Harlington.
