Dunmow a town about 50 miles from London is made up of two parts. Great Dunmow, a town in Uttlesford Essex, which house almost 8,830 people or the Little Dunmow, a village located in the vale of River Chelmer about 3 miles outside Great Dunmow and housing fewer than 300.
Many fine 14th-17th century buildings are still found in the village including the Priory Place, Brick House, Ivy House, Monks Hall and Rose Farm. Also, many thatched cottages are scattered across the village. Other landmarks and historic sightseeing places include the Flitch way, RAF Great Dunmow, Gardens of Easton Lodge, Dunmow Maltings Museum, Oakwood Park Little Dunmow and High Roding Church along with many other.
There are many notable personalities belonging to Dunmow including the award-winning novelist and writer Evelyn Anthony, the actors Toke Townley and Glen Murphy as well as the celebrity builder Tommy Walsh.
