The modern Hertfordshire town of Cheshunt is composed mainly of post-war development. Around 39,000 people call the town home. Cheshunt is handy for the M25 and has a swift (30-minute) rail link to London Liverpool Street, making the town a popular choice for commuters. London City Airport is also within easy reach.
Back in the 17th century, Oliver Cromwell's family lived in Cheshunt and his son is buried there. More recently, Spice Girl Victoria Beckham was born in the town.
Cheshunt has a good mix of high street shops, as well as a retail park on the edge of town. Local attractions include the Green Dragon Inn which dates back to the 16th century. The town has a golf club and nearby Lee Valley Park offers a range of water sports. Great Wood Country Park provides even more local green space.
