The home of the iconic Burberry raincoats beloved of everyone from Victoria Beckham to the Royal family the town of Castleford, West Yorkshire derives its name from an ancient Roman fort and the crossing of several nearby rivers.
The internationally renowned British sculptor Henry Moore was brought up in Castleford, the son of a local miner. The fluidity of Moore's sculpture is often attributed to the landscapes of Yorkshire and Castleford.
After the closing of the mines, Castleford sustains itself with several factories including one of Burberry's two factories in the UK warehouses, and a nearby power station.
In recent years Castleford has featured in the television shows A Touch of Frost and Kevin McCloud And The Big Town Plan. It has also given birth to the rugby league Super League team Castleford Tigers.
