Burgess Hill is a town to the north of Brighton, on the south coast of England. It is within an hour's train ride to London and history lovers will find themselves close to three important castles: Arundel Castle, Lewes Castle and Bodium Castle. The three are within a one hour journey.
Burgess Hill is twinned with Schmallenberg in Germany and Abbeville in France. It is well supplied and has two shopping centres for its population of about 30,000. It has many primary and secondary schools and churches, and in 2006 the town council was awarded Town Council of the year.
Many famous sports stars were born in or lived in Burgess Hill including basketball player, Richard Midgley and footballer Bobby Zamora. The television presenter Holly Willoughby also went to school in Burgess Hill.
