Situated between Ramsgate and Margate is the coastal town of Broadstairs. Broadstairs boasts seven sandy beaches and a plethora of festivals and activities such as the Blues Bash, the Broadstairs Folk Week and the Broadstairs Food Festival.
Despite a population of around 25,000, being combined with St Peter's parish, Broadstairs has a distinct community feel. It could take an age to walk down the traditional high street as you would be greeted by so many familiar and friendly faces. You will find retro ice cream parlours, small winding streets leading to fisherman's cottages, a cliff top promenade and a beach filled with quintessential beach huts and children's rides.
Broadstairs has been the scene for a few British television sets, including an Only Fools and Horses Christmas special as well as the new Sky TV series The Tunnel: Sabotage. However, one of the town's most famous residents is Charles Dickens and the narrow streets and flint walls have not changed much since his time and this can be seen in the Dickens House Museum.
