The Merseyside town of Bebington lies just south of Birkenhead. It has a mix of modern, 1930s and Victorian housing, but there are also some Georgian and even Tudor buildings. There are three local rail stations offering quick access to Liverpool and Chester. The town is convenient for the M53. Around 57,000 people live in the Bebington area.
The busy town centre contains many small, independent shops. There's a town hall and civic centre, as well as the nearby Oval Sports Centre, used as a film location in Chariots of Fire and extensively refurbished in 2008. Brackenwood golf course lies south-west of the town.
There's plenty of green space too at Mayer Park, Storeton Woods, as well as the meadows and reed beds of the 32-hectare Dibbinsdale Nature Reserve. Local attractions include the butterfly park in the railway sidings.
