Barnetby once known as Bernodebi in the 1086 Domesday Book, is a North Lincolnshire village with a small population of only 1,500. Built around the time of the Anglo-Saxon's, with elements of Norman architecture the Church of St. Mary is the town's historical relic. From Barnetby railway station you can get to towns Scunthorpe, and Grimsby in the other direction, in half an hour and Lincoln in 45 minutes. Humberside International Airport is also close at only four miles away. There is not much in terms of shops and services; there are two schools, two pubs, two takeaways and a few other shops selling household and garden items.
The Whistle and Flute pub, which also doubles up as a guest house, provides regular entertainment of pop tribute acts, sport showings and quiz nights.
