Baldock is small town with a population of 10,000 within the Hertfordshire district. Residents tend to use this town to commute easily to London, without being in a bustle of the capital. Their high street was once home to a booming medieval market place that made the community grow.
Several events take place during the year, but the most popular of these is the Baldock Festival. Originated in 1983, this cultural festival consists of various events through the town such as museum trips, a car treasure hunt, comedy acts, cricket matches, a barn dance, a family quiz night, a mystery tour, a quiz night and live music from local bands. The festival ends with a large Medieval Street Fair which portrays what life would be like in the medieval era.
