A civil parish in Norfolk and with a population of less than 10,000, Attleborough is a picturesque location which is surrounded by nature. Famous residents of Attleborough include John Fashanu who went to school here, composer Sir Malcolm Arnold who lived in the town for several decades and motorsport legend Ayrton Senna who resided here before he began racing in Formula One.
Attleborough is a sleepy town but has good transport links. The A11 road which runs between Thetford and Norwich is close by Attleborough and has been widened in recent years. Despite its quiet location, Attleborough has many remarkable buildings such as the Attleborough parish church which has a 17th century alms box with much of its architecture dating from before then. The first historical mention of Attleborough parish church dates back to the 9th century.
